Everytime I play a game (mainly Battlefield 2), ususally 20 or so min into the game it CTD wit no error, expect for the Battlefield 2142 demo it gives the the sorry error with the report or dont report thing. I tried to increase memory speed and it helped a little, last longer in the games, but still CTD.

My system specs are as followed:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU
Memory: 1024MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c
Video Card: ATI Radeon X1950 Series(512mb)

If more info is needed, please ask.

I have the latest patches install for all drivers and for the games. Im not sure how to run a memory test ><. Where are the cache files for BF2 found? I think my comp might be overclocking. I have no Antispyware installed or anything else like that running.

Generally, when working with BF2, its assumed a given that your game will CTD. Mine does at times as well.

The hard part is figuring out why. Its been fixed with hardware replacement/removal, software modification, software removal, software addition, registry changes, cache cleaning, driver changes, and just plain reinstallation.

This may take a while to solve, but my personal experience with the BF series is that time and time again, RAM has been the problem, be it too little RAM or corrupt RAM.

Too little ram was the issue for me, the game demands fast access to the ram and pagefile is slow as hell. 2 gig upgrade and i haven't crashed since.

i would have to go with the ram being the main source of your problem. even if it is good, it is just meets bf2 wants to run with. take out 256ish for system, and that leaves you with not as much as bf2 would like.

i have 4gb ram, and bf2 has been the most stable of the games i've been playing on this machine.

I tried 2g of ram and i dont think its that, i just tried to update motherboard drivers and gonna see how it runs.

Hmm, still crashed, either that or it will just freeze the comp now. It kept saying that my windows version may be at risk or something on the tray, maybe its that.

well i think i have the same problem...
But i think it has to do with the map or the hard disk(s). This only happens if i want to play Strike at Karkand and the message is always different but mosty :
"BF2 Error Memory Block (3700MB) doesnt seem sane. It cant be the ram, because i tested it 12 hours with memtest and no error. BTW I only use 2 gig ram in my laptop... My virtual memory is exactly 3700 mb . Do u think this has to do with the virtual memory? At my desktop its the same problem but maybe because of my raid 0? My CPU is 27 and my GPU 55 degrees (CELSIUS), which i think is not much... btw i am using vista... ;)
