So I hear Microsoft is coming out with a new operating system. So I guess I am right in thinking that Vista was really crap and that is why I have always purchased Xp for myself and my customers. Too bad so many people have vista.

when vista came out i was totally against it and thought it failed as an operating system but i rethought about it and if i recall (i was young but kinda remember) everyone thought XP was crap and didnt want it, much like vista is thought of but in reality it is just different. i figure ill probably be moving to vista even if it's not what im wanting at the moment but after another service pack or another month (whatever comes first) ill probably switch over.

the way i see vista is it over simplifies everything. for most of us, computers come easy and when we want to networks something we just go in and do it. with vista it asks you questions and does it all for you. annoying to some but useful to others.

basically its new and different so get use to it ;)
(that and they arent ganna support XP forever now)

This is the precise reason why I gave no flying rat's ass about any person's opinion in regards to Vista. It was the same shit with Win98/95->XP. Non-stop bitching and moaning about performance loss and other various things. Hell, the same damn arguments were used then that are used now (I distinctly recall one article saying XP would never pick up because of its "bubble gum" appearance, performance hit, and changes to the user:computer control system).

Granted, whether or not Vista picks up or this apparent "new" OS will pick up still doesn't mean anything to me. If it has a use, I'll get it; if not, I won't.

-----------

After a quick Google search, "Singularity" (lol) looks to be basically a testing ground for new archetypical situations for computers, not necessarily a replacement commercial OS.
