New Cooling Fan

My four year old ultra cpu fan (piece of crap) for socket A has always been around 70 to 90db, very annoying. I don't know why I have not done this sooner but I finally purchased a Masscool CPU fan for my tiny Semptron AMD Chip. I figure I will just use some toilet tissue to run off the old silicon first. I think I can just rub it away. I have really never done this before, on a cpu before. Any recommendations?
