I've had an LG lcd HDTV for about 5 months now and since I'm not going to be having my Xbox360 with me for the time being, I decided I want to set up the TV as an indepedent secondary screen (work on other things at same time, be able to watch my DVD's without having to sit in the computer chair, dual-boot games to taunt people, etc.). The TV itself is an LG 26LC7D (CNet Review (http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-tvs/lg-26lc7d/4505-6482_7-32426007.html)).

I tried setting it up using the simple instructions they give, those being:
Step 1: Plug it in.
Step 2: Turn it and Computer on.
Step 3: Send us money.
Trouble-Shooting: Repeat Steps 1 and 2. Repeat Step 3 repeatedly, regardless of if it does or does not work.

I tried connecting it to my computer using an HDMI-to-DVI cable. The video card, drivers, and Vista all agree that the TV is there and acceptable for use. Hell, they know it's a fucking LG-brand TV, even. Unfortunately, the TV claims there is no signal.
There are two ports on the back of the TV, one labled "HDMI/DVI Input 1" and "HDMI Input 2". Both are accepted by the computer but denied by the TV. Switching the TV to main monitor didn't work, neither did making them clones.

Other Relevant Info:
OS: Vista Home Premium (as a note...if you just post something like "Vista sucks" without help, I will remove your post, don't want fanboi-istic garbage, please...)
Video Card: ASUS EN8800gtx
<>Driver version 7.15.11.6369, Otherwise known as 163.69 (outdated, but my Vista experience grew up with each new driver leading to more and more "TDR" issues, so I'm wary of upgrading...)
Monitor: Samsung 226bw

Been wondering if there are one of those but I haven't taken the time to check the factory menu (since the standard menu is surprisingly worthless).

Made no difference, unfortunately; on or off.

It's tempting to get a DVI-to-VGA to see if RGB-PC input would work but man...if I had to stick with a 640x350/720x400, it's likely not worth the effort or money.

Those numbers are from the book for the TV.
