Bring back dust_2000 (not sure what the exact name of the map was)

The admins had removed that a long time ago, not only from the rotation but also from admins possibly changing it to that map.

Not only is it a excellent map, it is successful at keeping out 28 players busy and not overcrowded. Unlike other maps (unless someone is spawn camping) if you spawn, you won't get shot down immediately. Big Plus there. On the whole, it's really fun, there's a place for snipers, for people with normal and just about everything.

De_dust2002. It was never in the rotation. It was voted to by admins and donators, because it is a popular dm map. IMO we would get more donations for rights to awp/auto with this map. Please consider :)

Is this the map with separate spawn points and a sniper area for each team separated by a waterway through the middle of the map, a lower ramp area for each time on one side, and a spiral staircase leading to a bridge-area with a stone arcade and boxes to hide between. And can't some people get boosted onto the roof and walk to the other team's spawn point and spawn kill them all?

Yes that's the map. But i'm not aware of the last part that you mentioned.

Most of the new players haven't experienced the map on this server since we didn't have it after the drop in population. But will try? How about like 15?

they are a little over half way there with 6 diffrent people posting on it. If they want it so bad why is there not 30 votes yet. How many people a day does our server see and we a small fraction of that posting regularly on the forums. sorry you want me to work you guys need to work.

awww, ive been shot down :( well whenever im on the forums i see a max of like 4 other people on them at a time and its always the same. there are more people that play on the servers that would have opinions than on the forums. i havent even played CS in a while.

id say have a banner that displays once every x minutes that says if you wish to add a map see bla bla bla post in forums. maybe we will get a few more people on the forums =P

I agree with him. In the end, people don't have enough incentive to come and register with a forum, give their Email ID out to a website and go through all this work for a map most of them haven't ever played. (i've never seen this map outside of 2f4f)

But I will continue to message the players to come Join this. Hopefully, and eventually someone will. Additionally, can we make it an option that unregistered people can vote on the poll? That would make it so much easier.

and yes that server was very populated back in the day the only problem was when ppl would use the glitch and get up on the top and kill ppl.
id like to see this map come back but this map also requires a lot of strict rules and guidencel, this means a lot more admin supervision.

I have a few problems. One is gliching. two is you guys dont really have any clue what squirrl and i have done for the servers. He has forked out alot of time and way too much money for you guys and the servers. I have put alot of time in too but not as much as he. I have modifyed code and did minor server up keep.

I have tryed to upkeep 2 CS servers along with keeping track of what the admins are doing. I do not mind all the work i have done and still want to do more. I just feel that when I ask for 30 yes votes and post from the players of the server that i could get that befor i have people saying i sould just add the map or down sizing my number or PMing me asking when the map will be added to the server. If you cant get 30 people to vote yes on a map from a 31 slot server that is sad. I could add the map and do spawns in an hour. The map could be running right now if i wanted. I am not going to waist time on somthing that no one but a few people really care about. Ya it will be fun but what is the point when we get very little traffic fromt he server on the website. donations are down on the cs servers. This could help or it could do nothing. I need real intrest in the servers from the players before i want to change somthing.


If you want somthing done on the servers SHOW ME THE PLAYERS want it not just the admins. I work for free to keep 2frag going. I love taking care of admins and the cs servers. But we all work for the players. So get them on and voting

just wondering kind of off topic, what did you mean we have very lil to do with it?
i remember playing on it back in the day but i was new to 2frag and didnt know much about what went on.

it wasnt our server someone asked if we wanted to set up a west coast server on his. we did a basice install and he added maps and what not we used our database and stuff i never put our csdm donator plugin on that server.

*Edit* Holy hell, I forgot about that guy who rented out a server.

The 2frag Counter-Strike DM servers were started up by a removed admin by the name of m4xcarbine. With skulk's, a few others (Afro and what-not), and my time (I had way too much free time), and an insane amount of work and sacrifice (note: monetary and time) on Squirrl's part, we got the server moving.

What is wanted for 2frag4fun is a forums filled with people that aren't admins or moderators. People who aren't just random players on the servers, people who are part of the 2frag community. This is what Afro is asking for when he gives the "30 vote" requirement. And from what I have seen on my smurfscursions on the servers, there are repertoires of regulars on each server. Why aren't they regulars on the forums and teamspeak, too?

In regards to old fogies being MIA... You can see some of the admin profiles on the site in regards to people like Loki. The rest? I don't recall. My own current lack of participation came because of classes (this is why I play an MMO, I can play the game AND do work at the same time...god, I love my widescreen monitor), granted, I'm still here and I play, just not as much. (That, and Vista really hates my sound card so I can't use TeamSpeak.) Additionally, my short-term goal for the CSDM servers was met: an array of trustworthy, good moderators and admins have been brought into the community. Personally, I hate CS, but I wanted the server to survive because 2frag hit a major popularity deadspot when the NS server lost population. That, and this is the first online community I have been involved with that has ZERO e-drama, so I really wanted it to keep going strong. (If anyone knows about the TFC community "Team STFU", you should know exactly what I'm talking about.) Right now, it's doing well, but the real aim is for it to be doing exemplary.

Apologies for the block of textual ranting. This isn't aimed at nor does it say that you guys are doing anything other than excellent, it's just a general statement on 2frag4fun's goals and future. Well, at least it's what I see for 2f4f.

I have to thank you all for all your help. I guess you guys don't get that enough, but I, including other players, really appreciate it.

One of the reasons I can guess that people aren't so much into the forum is because

1) We gotta spam it in the DM server more. I mean I don't see it in my face which it should be so that I know a forum exists.

2) A DM Isn't much of a community, coz well.. it's a everyone kills everyone. On the other hand, other games like DOD are more Team games.

My other reason for requesting a lower number of players was because unless you've been playing here for a long time, I doubt you've played this map. They don't know what your missing.

But anyways. will try to get more votes in here. Sooner or later it will reach 30. /hope.

I vote yes also. As a Constant player on the DM server. It is very much needed to play something else than 2 maps, Even for a bit. Dust2002 is a bit like de_dust with features like de_dust2. Put it on the server, the worst that could happen is you take it off.
