wtf happened to lineage? i know some dont have the time anymore due to work/school etc. but seriously, it seems like most left/are leaving it. i know faithful mentos will play until hes keyboard falls apart. but 2f4f kinda died. some moved to other servers (such as myself) finding ones without 400 ping and much of the old ways (stacking subs ^^) and some just gave up without a trace.

those that dont know, lineage 2 is a MMORPG that is fairly addicting, better graphics then WoW and alot more PvP based with castle sieges Olympiad heroes etc.

i noticed that there isnt a section for it and im suggesting that maybe one could be made for the few still playing. possibly more will and can join the community.

either way im sure it will work out. have a nice night guys, its 4am for me and im sleeping now.

most have left due to the politics and the the way the server changed after going to dex. most of us played for enjoyment, there is no more enjoyment on that server anymore.

i agree with you there, thats y i found another (snoopys suggestion acctualy, thx snoopy) has stacking subs, 30x and 12x rates, D/C grade buy able, dances are 10 minutes, mana pots that are 400 mp but re-use time of 10 seconds (not spamable) retail subs but each retail sub, u can have a "subclass" like on old reborn. hero, noblesse everything working, full c4 and more i have yet to discover. ive seen some old friends and enemys, ran into rean1mation yesterday i think, dema and others say they recognize me from reborn but i dont remember them O.o


anyway its a "server suggestion" so i suggested.

for all those die-hard lineage fans, i found an l2 server in Texas(USA). its supposedly the furthest along in c5, not l2j, and has its own development team. It has a 5x server and a 15x server. The 15x is in its final beta day (today) and will be wiped tomorrow morning to start fresh. the server is L2 Supreme (http://www.supremel2.com) and it looks good. i haven't played l2 since i last played with silent and guys on abyss (and that was like once a month) i might test this one out because i cant stand lineage on a laggy server (russia at 300-400 is laggy to me). i pinged/trace routed this server and while im downloading 2+gigs at full speed i got an 80-100 ping every time. 80-100 is the same i get while playing counterstrike on the 2f4f server and that is very tolerable to me.

if anyone's interested, i might start a 2f4f clan there, maybe bring a few more people into the community, if not whatever, ill run solo for a while.

ill give an update in a few days or so if i think its good.

Lineage 2 on the official servers introduces you to two things:

1) A job you pay others to be allowed to do.
<-> Base rates with thousands of people is pain incarnate. You can hardly get any kills because of the amount of people. On top of that, the game is built with the farming mentality as its primary concept, so the highest drop percentages on most items are somewhere in the 1/100,000,000,000 range. Beyond that, "gold" per item cost ratio is something like 1 gold/monster:100,000,000 gold/item.
The pathetic thing is, even if you have access to a server yourself, have a toon that can kite hundreds and hundreds of monsters, kill them with an AoE, then repeat, you STILL need somewhere around 10,000+ kills to even come close to leveling. If anyone ever claims their MMO is a "horrible grind", introduce them to L2. I don't recall the numbers, but even at 1000x rates, it takes a solid couple of hours to actually get from 60-71, and a couple of days for 71-73, and weeks for 73-75.


2) A hatred of asians.
<-> The Chinese and Russians do nothing but farm the game's valuable mobs, 24/7 so they can sell stuff by way of RMT (Real Money Transfer). You will hear from them through messages, CONSTANTLY. They have bots built to do this, nonstop. You can't get away from it.
As a second irritation from them farming the game's valuable mobs nonstop, you run into the fact that the only mobs that drop decent money/items at reasonable rates, are ALSO the only mobs that drop decent experience. The problem with this is, Lineage 2 was built by fucking morons, so if you're level 50, you can fight a level 20 mob and still have the same drops as a level 20. This means, with a level 50, a farmer can wash through these level 20 mobs that have decent xp/item/gold drops, screw over the level 20's that need them to level, and then, because of the open PvP system, if a level 20 gets some mobs, the farmer can just kill them. They don't care if they get flagged for a kill. Additionally, they just might farm -players- because of the off-chance they might drop something good. Stupid as hell as it is, but there's a higher chance for a player to drop equipment than a mob.

There you go, my reasoning for avoiding the official L2 servers.

I've been playing L2 since it has came out 4+ years ago...The Xp rates need to be what they are to make the game a time sink, if you want 100X rates just look towards WoW. The i can't make max level in two hours just doesn't hold any water with me.

So you have to spend alot of time and effort in building your character, thats what make it all worth the effort to feel as you have accomplished something.

By the way they no longer have drop on death and i don't know what you are use too for mob drop rates on these private servers. But you don't get nothing if your a level 50 killing level 20 mobs. Where is the challenge in that? :viking:

I don't think we will ever go to the official servers. If I ever played it again, which I doubt, I certainly would not pay a fee for it. That would be like paying someone to break my legs.

However I would like to play Age of Empires again sometime.

lol well ive played offical for a while now and the main problem isn't the time well.... maybe it is for some people.. lol silent. But if you don't have an SUPER awsome computer you will never be able to attend castle seiges cause the last one i was at in aden had about 2k people not including everyone else. Liona server imagine if it was Bartz. lol. BTW i'm playing on l2supreme 15x. I quit offical casue the down time was makin me crazy. And more more thing i love you guys!! ^^ :)
