Track Mania Nations (http://www.trackmanianations.com/indexUk.php) was described as those Hotwheels cars and tracks you would put together and send cars jumping, flipping, looping at blazing speeds. Imagine that as a game and you come up with Track Mania. Nations refers to the fact that you play people across the world on the same tracks competing to be the best.

There are many features built into the free version and even more in the paid copy. I personally have the free version and have just as much fun as everyone else. With the free version you can create your own maps, have them hosted by the 2F4F server (admin's decisions) and play them along with everyone who joins the server. The paid version comes with the ability to add much custom content. Custom includes, but is not limited to: the size, shape, colors, horn, decals, etc of your car (3rd party programs help but not necessary with the incorporated tools)

For those interested in this free game, check it out at their official site: http://www.trackmanianations.com and to start your damn fast download just click HERE (http://download.nvidia.com/downloads_emea/Trackmania_Nations/TmNationsESWC_Setup.exe)

Be warned that as simple as this game sounds, it does put your processor and especially your graphics cards to work do to shading and texturing for each custom map.

I hope that everyone can give this game a try and if there are any questions about it, don't hesitate to reply. Someone might just have the very same question.

Remember, always Have Fun!

i dont like vista and dont know if u have to do anything extra to it. check to make sure vista allows the program to run. and allows other internet access with that program. (offtopic.. vista SUX!)

I think you need a special .dll file. Not sure though silver should know more about that.

you need to right click on the icon, goto properties, run as administrator.

that should fix the prob. do it on the actual TmNationsESWC.exe

if it asks you to update the copy protection thingy, you have to do that too.

and i noticed when i installed it on my laptop. i clicked update, and it downloaded the update to my default download folder. i then had to run the update and install it. possibly some might miss that step as i did at first >.>

It works. It's a fun little game. I get 136FPS on 800x600 amd 77FPS on 1280x960. What do those 8800GTX's yall got get? What's the fps cap?

119 fps on 1680x1050 with everything maxed out. That's on the low end, typically it is about 130-140 area, if I recall correctly.

Well yo, all games have points inwhich the framerates will dip down. I try to keep my games above 60 because below that and it just doesn't look smooth to me, so if you have a card that doesn't fall below 120 it would be smooth running all the time then wouldn't it. If your card can only hit 70, that means its likely to fall below 60 a number of times (especially on some of the 2frag maps)

/bump

the interest is nicer off of 300million $_$ and can be split amongst your kids easier when i kill you.

about the fps, im short on time so i just hit the bench button (not a real busy map mind you) and i got 196 when it finished. 2.4 quad core, 8800gtx (no overclocks) my max ress is 1280x1024 (17in monitor) and everything else was maxed out.
